About the PTO

Our Mission

  1. To support the education of children at Indianola Informal K-8 by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers.

  2. To promote the welfare of children in the school, home and community.

  3. To enhance the educational facilities and opportunities for the students of Indianola Informal K-8 School that are otherwise not provided in school budgets.

  4. To bring closer relationships of home and school so that staff and families can work together to best meet student needs.

Who We Are

You! Friends of Indianola PTO is a volunteer organization made up of families, teachers and staff of our school. Our mission is to support the education of the children at Indianola Informal K-8 by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers. Through donations and fundraising efforts, we enhance educational opportunities for our students and provide our school with support for materials and enrichment not included in the school budget.

Meetings

PTO Meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm and everyone is invited to attend. Meetings will be held virtually and in-person at Indianola Informal.

Join Us!

Parent involvement is an essential part of our program. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) organizes an ice cream social in September, a Wellness Week in the fall, a Read-A-Thon in the winter, and a Carnival in the spring, as well as other activities throughout the year. The PTO provides financial support for students in many ways – for example, the PTO has purchased academic and supplementary educational materials, regularly paid for buses for field trips, and sponsored artist and author visits. The PTO hosts monthly general business meetings and arranges meetings on topics of interest and importance to parents.
